Servant of God, Well Done! Rest from Thy Love Employ. The Battle Fought, The Victory Won, Enter Thy Master’s Joy. Jerry Jones Blackwell, 74 was called home by the Lord on September 17, 2014. He was one of six children born to the late Climmie and Mable Blackwell on June 18, 1940, in Cincinnati, OH. Jerry grew up and attended school in the Chicago, IL area. He later joined the military and served in the United States Air Force. It was during his tour of duty that he met and married Darlene Bellinger of San Antonio, TX, to which one daughter, Scarla Gilbert, was born. Upon discharge from the military, Jerry moved to New Jersey where he learned the jewelry business and became regional manager of several stores. He later relocated to Los Angeles where he opened and managed jewelry stores for a major jewelry chain in several West Coast cities. Jerry later embarked upon a life of entrepreneurship owning his own jewelry store, a commercial janitorial business, and an optical store in Los Angeles, CA where he lived for over 30 years.
