John Richard Reiher, 95, of Leonardtown died on July 16 at Shore Health University of Maryland Medical System, Easton. Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 24, 1917, he was the son of the late Mary Effa (Hoffecker) Reiher and Christian Wilhelm Reiher. John was honorably discharged from the Army of the United States as a Technical Sergeant on Antiaircraft Artillery division with the 94th Gun Battalion. He was also awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his meritorious achievement with an in ground combat against the armed enemy during World War II in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater of Operations. John is survived by his son, Richard Alan Reiher of Easton and his daughter, Patricia Jean Parmer of Santa Rosa, CA; grandchildren, James Woods, Jeremy Parmer, and Mary (Parmer) Hillier; and great grandchildren, Harper and Lilia Woods. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Bernice Valentine Reiher. Family will receive friends for John’s Life Celebration on Saturday, August 10 from 1 until 2 p.m. at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. A memorial service will be held in the Brinsfield Funeral Home chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at a later date in Arlington Cemetery, in Upper Darby, PA. [...]
