Bertha June Burns, 80 of Mechanicsville, MD went home to be with the Lord on December 10, 2014 at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, MD. She was born on October 10, 1934 in Staunton, VA and was the daughter of the late Virgie Florence (Ramsey) Clarke. June had a love for many things including poetry, flowers and animals, but none could compare to the love she had for her family. In addition to her parents, June was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Jackson “Jimmy” Burns (August 2003) and son, Michael J. Burns (December 1983). June leaves behind five devoted children, Debbie DeHart (Bill), Joan Easterling (Leaston), Jack Burns (Paige), David Burns and Ginger Jameson (Steve); she will be lovingly remembered by her 10 grandchildren: Bobby, Becky, Lisa, John, Malissa, Michael, Steven, Andrew, Leaston and Rose; 13 great grandchildren: Jessy, Mariah, Zack, Brennan, Zoe, Victoria, Joey, Jeffery, Mathew, Jocelyn, Jillian, Benjamin and Bradley; one great-great grandchild Austin; as well as a large extended family including Travis, Kristy, Jen and Cherry.
