Kenneth Stephen Brown, 85 passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at his daughter’s home in California, MD, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 15, 1929, in Chicago, IL, he is the son of the late Andrew Wilson Brown and Roberta Stephen Brown. Kenneth earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago and then his medical degree from the University of Chicago Medical School in 1960. In December 1955, he married his beloved wife, Eva Brown in Chicago, IL. Together they celebrated over 59 wonderful years of marriage. He spent a 30 year career in genetics research at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, focusing on human developmental biology and malformations. Much of his work was published and he received numerous awards and accolades for his efforts. He also taught graduate courses at NIH and at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Bethesda). He retired as a Captain in the U.S. Public Health Service. He was an avid sailor his whole life.
