Nancy Bell Hardesty, 94, of Mechanicsville, passed away at NMS Healthcare in Annapolis, MD on August 23. Born April 5, 1919, she was the daughter of Andrew Cerrell Beamer and Lena Josephine Elmore Beamer. Nancy lived in the Washington, DC area before marrying her first husband, Malvern E. Hannum, US Army, in 1937. They settled in Colorado. After his death in 1941, she moved back to DC, becoming employed at the Washington Navy Yard. In August of 1945, she married her second husband, Wayne W. Hardesty, who preceded her in death in February of 1987. She was also preceded in death by her daughters Annetta Dunlap, and Bonnie Haley as well as Great Grandson David Krankowski. After moving to Southern Maryland, Nancy became a homemaker whose main love was her family-children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nancy is survived by her sons, Robert Hardesty, of Mechanicsville, and Malvern Hannum, of Bossier City, LA; daughters Deborah Myers, of Waldorf, and Tammy Farmer, of Lexington Park; brothers Alvin Beamer, of San Diego, CA and Wallace “Tee” Beamer of Odessa, FL, as well as 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
