Joan Huntley Hatfield, 86 of Charlotte Hall, MD passed away September 1, 2015 at Sagepoint, LaPlata, MD. Born February 6, 1929 in Youngstown, OH, she was the daughter of John Frey Reynolds and Virginia Isabel Huntley. Joan loved family and friends, church, and had a great love for cats. She was a retired clerk for CVS drugstores, and lived most of her life in Oxon Hill, Temple Hills and Waldorf, MD. She was very artistic, attending The Corcoran School of Art after graduating from Anacostia High School, and enjoyed traveling and the beach. As her daughters were growing up she was very active as a Girl Scout Leader and in other community activities. She was well loved and respected by friends of her daughters, which has been evident by the number of responses to her passing. People have written how much she impacted their lives when they were growing up by giving them opportunities they would have never had otherwise.
