James “Jimmy” Anthony Lawrence, Jr., 37 of Mechanicsville, MD passed on October 13, 2015. Born on August 31, 1978, he was the son of Debbie D. Lawrence and James A. Lawrence, Sr. of Mechanicsville, MD. Jimmy is survived by his daughter Alexis M. Lawrence of King George, VA, and sister Tessa Garner of Charlotte Hall, MD. He was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident, and graduated from Chopticon High School in 1996. Jimmy worked for A. M. Briggs as a meat cutter; he enjoyed golf, tennis, working out, and loved go cart racing. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bob Joseph officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers will be: Danny Annan, Steven Long, Arthur Lawrence, Jimmy Buckler, Ray Lawrence, and Stevie Long. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a trust fund for his daughter. Contributions may be made to “Alexis M. Lawrence Scholarship Fund” at any PNC Bank.
