Gopal Lilaram Chandiramani, 88 Of Washington, DC, died Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Georgetown University Hospital. Born, February 17, 1927 in Sukkur, Sind, India, he was the son of the late Lilaram Isardas Chandiramani and Nindhibai Advani Chandiramani. In 1947, Mr. Chandiramani and his family were forced to leave Sind and settle in Bombay, as a result of Partition. While in America, Mr. Chandiramani became a United States citizen. He arrived in the United States on September 13, 1955. He attended Indiana State Teachers College, in Pennsylvania and American University in Washington, DC, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Prior to leaving India he earned a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Political Science and History in Bombay. He worked at the Embassy of India for thirty-seven years. In retirement, he worked at Little Caledonia, Washington, DC and Maven Engineering Corporation, Rockville, MD. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by seven siblings. A Visitation will be held on November 28, 2015 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 13715 Notre Dame Place, Bryantown, MD 20617.
