Rosarie (Rosie) Votta passed away on December 29th surrounded by her family at the St. Mary’s Hospice House after fighting cancer. She was born on January 20th 1934 to her loving parents, Carmen and Jennie Pinto, in South Philadelphia, PA. She attended Hallahan Catholic Girls High school, graduating in 1952. After high school mom worked at an accounting firm. Growing up Rosie spent her summers in Atlantic City where her grandparents owned a home. She and her cousins worked in a local restaurant and spent their evenings on the Steel Pier. She married the love of her life, Frank (Sonny) Votta on April 21st 1956 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in South Philly. After living with her father-in-law for several years they built a home in Cinnaminson, NJ. In 1964 they welcomed their first child, Joseph Votta, to the family. Four years later came their daughter, Amy Matzdorf. In 1976 they moved to Annapolis Maryland for Dad’s work with the Navy. Rosarie was active in their parish at St. Andrew’s by the bay Catholic Church, working on the parish council and with the Ladies Club.
