Gibson Ames Cederborg, 91 of Temple Hills, MD, died on November 11, 2013, at Medstar Washington Hospital Center. He was born on October 8, 1922, in New York City to the late August J. Cederborg and Bessie Irene (Gibson) Cederborg. He is also predeceased by his loving wife, Doris Mae (Branch) Cederborg. Gibson graduated from Clarkson College in New York in 1944, with a B.S. in Engineering. He began his career as an Aeronautical Research Scientist with the forerunner of NASA, The National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics. He retired as Technical Communicator at the Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal Facility in Indian Head, MD. He is the author of several articles in his field of engineering as well as in technical writing. He loved playing chess and taught his boys to play well enough to beat him once or twice. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, and a past member of the Officer’s Club at Andrews Air Force Base. He was a devoted and caring husband and father who was always there for his family.
