Louis Carlton Dunn, Sr. (affectionately known as Lou), 95 of Ridge, MD died January 3, 2014, at Med Star Saint Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, MD. He was born May 28, 1918 in Victoria, VA, to the late Benjamin Franklin Dunn and Leota Adams Dunn. Lou was a twin, however his twin died at nine months old from pneumonia. Lou began his employment as a cab driver in Washington D.C. for many years. He left that job for a career with the federal government as a Machinist at the Washington Navy Yard and then Indian Head. On May 29, 1942, he married his beloved wife, Helen Beatrice Mauger. Together they celebrated 59 years of marriage before her death in 2003. His favorite recreational activity was golfing. He also enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Lou is survived by his children, Mary Damico (Jim) of Gaithersburg, MD, Louis Carlton Dunn, Jr. (Terry) of Lexington Park, MD and Charles Eugene Dunn (Trish) of Dickerson, MD; five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
