Gunnar Steinarsson, 55 passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2013 in Reykjavik, Iceland. He was born on September 8, 1958 in Reykjavik, Iceland to Steinar Marteinsson and Bara Gestsdottir. Gunnar graduated from Thomas Stone High School in Waldorf, Maryland in 1975. He owned and operated a sign painting company in Texas before moving back to Iceland. Gunnar is survived by his parents; his son, Erik Gunnarsson of Tampa, FL; his brothers, Victor Marteinsson of Westchester, PA and Marteinn Steinarsson of Houston, TX; his sisters, Kris Cochran of Waldorf, MD and Bryndis Marteinsson of Pascagoula, MS; and his granddaughter, Norah. Family and friends will be received for Gunnar’s Memorial Gathering on Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 PM on Saturday, here at the funeral home.
