Joseph “Joe Boy” Leroy Herbert, Sr. 61 of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on August 25, 2017 at his residence. Born May 14, 1956 in Leonardtown, MD, he was the son of the late Martha Elizabeth Herbert and Howard Leo Herbert. Joe is survived by his children: Joanne (Tommy) Sullivan of Indian Head, MD, Joseph Herbert, Jr. of Mechanicsville, MD, Howard (Jackie) Herbert, of Mechanicsville, MD, James (Ashley) Herbert of Lusby, MD, Daisy (Bill) Howe of Leonardtown, MD and Martha (Robert) Andrews. Siblings; Margaret Lawrence, Thelma Alvey, Thomas Herbert, James Herbert, Dorothy Bonner, Joyce Solomon, Judith Oliver, Emma William, Lois Herbert, Mary Herbert, Dale Herbert, Bessie Ingram, Ernest Herbert, Martha Bonnie and Elizabeth Savage, Grandchildren; Eric Sullivan, Hallie Herbert, Allie Herbert, Gaven Herbert, Savannah Herbert, Chole Herbert, Jayden Herbert, Joseph “Bubba” Herbert, Riley Herbert, William Howe, John Howe, Justin Andrews and Kiersten Andrews. Catherine “Cathy” Frances Bailey of Bushwood, MD passed away on August 25, 2017 in Baltimore, MD. Born November 9, 1966 in Leonardtown, MD, she was the daughter of Charles Joseph Wood of Abell, MD and the late Mary Margaret Wood. Cathy is survived by her loving husband, Steven “Steve” J. Bailey, Sr., whom she married on April 15, 1989 in Avenue, MD, children; Steven J. Bailey, Jr. and Meaghan T. Bailey both of Bushwood, MD, Siblings; Bobby (Patty) Wood of Compton, MD and Laurie A. (Mark) Muir of Bushwood, MD. Cathy was a lifelong resident of St .Mary’s County, she worked for the Federal Government as a Financial Analyst for 32 years and she enjoyed spending time with family, antiques and card games with friends. Hilton Garcia Ramos was born to Hilton Garcia Cruz and Gregoria Ramos Garcia on October 24, 1958 in Guayama, Puerto Rico. He moved to New York City in 1962 and resided in the borough of Brooklyn. His first love since his youth was God. From an early age he realized he loved God and served as an altar boy in an act of love to God. This service did not mean that he thought he was better than others, but that he recognized his short comings before God and was thankful to know God still accepted him. His second love was aircrafts. From his early days in Brooklyn he would watch the airplanes flying over his apartment building as they made their way into Kennedy Airport. He graduated from East New York Vocational and Technical High School in 1976 in their aviation program. He attended Brooklyn College for two years before enlisting in the United States Navy in May 1978. He served in the Navy for eight years as an aircraft electrician’s mate (AE), three years active duty and five years in the reserves, based out of Patuxent River Navy Base. Juanita Marie Wooster (formerly – Juanita Mitchell) died surrounded by her immediate family on August 26, 2017 in Waldorf, Maryland at the age of 81. Juanita is survived by her husband of 54 years, Larry Wooster, daughter, Elizabeth Wooster; son, David Wooster and wife Caryn and two grandchildren, Sabrina and Nathan. Brother, Galen Mitchell of Franktown Colorado and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Edra Mitchell; sisters, Lois Glenn (Middleport, NY), Densie Morgan (Sterling, VA), and her brother Cleon Mitchell (Wolf Run, PA) Juanita Marie Wooster was born on July 21, 1936 in a house located in Wolf Run, PA. . She married Larry Wooster in February 1963. After moving to Southern Maryland they worked together and started Wooster Drilling Company which is still operational today. Juanita was a very dedicated wife and mother and was passionate about her family, especially her grandchildren. Vernon Arnold “Dick” Tucker, Sr., 84, of North Beach passed away August 28, 2017. Dick was born February 24, 1933 in Friendship to Calvert and Hazel Tucker, who passed away when he was 17. He joined United States Air Force and served in the Korean War. Following his discharge from the Air Force, Dick worked as a truck driver for Buck Distributing before going to work for Stidham Tire in Annapolis, where he worked for 26 years. When Stidham Tire decided to close, Dick had an opportunity to open Tucker’s Sunoco and Service Station in Chesapeake Beach. He opened and operated the business for 25 years until his retirement in 2008. Dick enjoyed working and providing service to the residents of Calvert County. He also enjoyed cookouts, holiday gatherings, watching his grandchildren open presents, playing cards, shooting pool, bowling, playing lawn darts, listening to country and western music and watching western and wildlife TV shows. In his later years, he enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and squirrels in his back yard. Dick will be greatly missed by those who knew him. It is with great sadness that the family of Jacob Brian Cleman, known to friends and family as “Jake”, announces his sudden passing on Saturday Aug. 26, 2017 in Barstow, MD, at the age of 37 years. Jake was born March 4, 1980, in Alexandria, VA. He grew up in Calvert County, MD and graduated from Calvert High School in 1998. He was an avid reader of fantasy and fiction. He loved music and was an exceptional guitar player. Jake was loved by family, friends and anyone who met him. He is survived by his mother, Laura Welch; his brother, Jeremiah and wife Allie Cleman; his sister Rachel Carr and husband James; niece Brianna Carr; and nephew Eric Carr; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Carl Golden Wehausen, Jr. , 76, son of the late Carl Golden Wehausen, Sr. and Mary Emma (Seaton) Wehausen died Saturday, August 26, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones. He leaves his beloved wife of 25 years, Anna Marie (Droskinis) Wehausen; his children Michael Wehausen, Mary (Wehausen) Minniear, Tony Wehausen and Charles “Ricky” Donaldson; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his siblings Gilly Moore, Eddie Wehausen, Nancy (Wehausen) Grantis, Joanie Wehausen, daughter Sharon Donaldson and grandaughter Ashley Donaldson; he is survived by his brothers Kenny Moore, Joseph Wehausen, Sr., and sister Terry (Wehausen) Lusby. Carl was a native Washingtonian and a lifelong resident of Temple Hills, Maryland. After graduating from Chamberlain High School, he began his career as an engineering apprentice with Hecht company and served as an engineer with B’nai B’rith International for 30+ years before retiring in 1998. Carl was a loyal Washington Redskins fan and a member of the local Elks Lodge and the Columbia Moose Lodge. He was also a member of the Southwest Washington Alumni Association (S.W.A.A.).

William G. “Glenn” Nix, Jr., 62, of Lusby, MD, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Louisville, KY, on November 18, 1954, to Betty Sue (West) and William G. Nix, Sr. Glenn retired in 2013 from the Calvert County Department of Solid Waste. He enjoyed modeling, was an avid goffer and watching the WWE. He was the beloved husband of Julia A. (Nokes) Nix, and the father of Daniel Nokes, Christopher Nix, Elizabeth Thompson, Erin Mitchem, Regina Nix and William G. Nix, III. He was the brother of Larry D. Nix and the son-in-law of Bruce and Emma Norris. He is also survived by cousins Janet McCauley and Nancy Spears Nelson, and many other family members.

Janice was born on December 18, 1944 to the late Edmond and Rita Bellefeuille in Fall River, MA. Janice worked as a registered nurse at La Plata Hospital, Civista, So. MD Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital prior to her retirement. She enjoyed painting, bird watching, crocheting, and spoiling her dog, Maggie. In addition to her parents, Janice was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Gagnon, mother Rita Bellefeuille & father Edmond Bellefeuille. Janice is survived by her sons, Craig Gagnon w/ Emma Woodworth & Brian Gagnon w/ Kristen Hook; brother, Mark Bellefeuille w/ wife Arlene Bellefeuille; grandchildren, Brian, Gabe, Molly and Kevin. Grace Darling Hoyle, 83, formerly of Mechanicsville, Maryland, died on August 27, 2017 at Manor Care in Largo, MD. Born on August 17, 1934 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Grace Olive Bennett Bowling and Augustus Washington Bowling. Mrs. Hoyle graduated from Nursing School in Washington, DC and later worked for the telephone company with over 30 years of service as a business representative. After her retirement with the phone company, she sold real estate with Weichert Realtors. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hoyle was preceded in death by her son, Charles William “Chuck” Hoyle Jr. and her brother Harry Bowling. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Charles “C.W.” Hoyle Sr.; daughter-in-law Dawn M. Hoyle; grandchildren Matthew L. Hoyle and Casey L. Hoyle; great granddaughter Lillian Elizabeth Grace Hoyle; siblings Jean Gardiner, Gus and Tim Bowling. Visitation on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 9 AM to 10 AM with Funeral Services beginning at 10 AM at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 27108 Mt. Timothy Russell “Tim” Reagan, age 58 of Waldorf, Maryland, died August 31, 2017 at his home after a two and a half year battle with cancer. He fought hard and had his typical positive attitude and witty humor until his passing. Tim was a friend to all and enjoyed life. His passions included riding his Harley, boating, and eating Maryland crabs. Tim was a devout Catholic and graduate of Ryken High School in Leonardtown, MD. He will be greatly missed but has left a positive impression on everyone he touched. He was the son of Jessie C. Reagan and Antoinette Capone Reagan. Tim is survived by his wife of 33 years, Pamela Sue Pierce Reagan; his children, Brandon T. Reagan and Brittany N. Reagan; and his brother, Michael Reagan. Friends received on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 5-8PM with Wake Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Deborah Anne “Debbie” O’Dell, 54, of Chesapeake Beach passed away August 31, 2017. She was born April 5, 1963 in Cheverly to Mansfield Edward Sr. and Lucia Anne (Leone) Gott. Debbie was raised in Chesapeake Beach and attended Northern High School. She was employed as a bartender at Rod N’ Reel Restaurant and Smokey Joe’s Grill. Debbie was a member of the Chicago Knockers mud wrestling team for several years and traveled all over the United States participating in events. Debbie was an avid Washington Redskins fan and also enjoyed the beach, going to Ocean City, family gatherings and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed taking judo lessons as a child. Debbie is survived by her children George and Michael O’Dell of Chesapeake Beach, granddaughter Cali O’Dell, mother Lucia A. Gott of Chesapeake Beach, father Mansfield E. Gott, Sr. and wife Beth of Cocoa Beach, FL, brother James A. Gott and wife Melissa of Beltsville and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Mansfield E. “Luke” Gott, Jr. and Thomas A. Gott.

Linda Kathleen Anne Ruffolo, age 66, of Waldorf, MD, formerly of England. Linda was a Claims Processor for Progressive Insurance in White Plains, MD for 29 years. She was an animal lover, who also loved being with friends, traveling, and laughing. She also had an interest in history, art, and reading a good book. Linda was the daughter of the late Victor Warren and the late Kathleen Cox. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Joseph Russell Ruffolo, Jr.; one daughter, Rachel L. Garay and her husband Edgar; and two sisters, Gwen Ayre and Jean Small and her husband David. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Abigal and Noah. Funeral Services are pending at this time, awaiting the arrival of family from England.

James N. Faucette , 78, of Waldorf, MD went to be with the Lord on August 27, 2017. He passed away peacefully in his sleep in the comfort of his own home with his son Donald by his side. James starting working for the A&P Tea Company at the age of 18 as a meat cutter and retired after 30 years . He thought he was going to enjoy being retired but after a few short weeks he decided it wasn’t for him and starting working again as a meat cutter at Nicks of Clinton in Waldorf, MD, where he worked for another 20 plus years. James loved sitting at his kitchen table looking out the window at all the sites while doing his cross word puzzles, playing his poker video game and watching his Courts (Judge Judy) and yes Jerry Springer. George V. Garlejo, 68

George V. Garlejo, of Bryans Road, MD, passed suddenly on August 28, 2017 at the age of 68. He was born in Bacnotan la union, Philippines to Eugenia Valmonte and Eugenio Garlejo. He joined the US Navy in 1966 in Baguio City, where he served for 22 years and received numerous accolades before retiring in 1989. From there, he moved on to working the front desk at the Comfort Inn (originally known as the Springfield Inn) in Springfield, VA until 2016. When at work, he took charge yet always put the needs of others before himself – almost like a second marriage. At home, before and after his retirement, he loved watching sports on TV and making a joke or two at dinner with his family. George was married to Nora Ferianela Garlejo for 35 wonderful years. In addition to her, he leaves behind three children: Brenda G. Pulido (Agustin), Jonathan G. Garlejo, and Ryan C. Garlejo (Joanne). He also leaves behind brothers Jaime Garlejo and Romeo Garlejo – both currently residing in the Philippines, and two grandchildren in Christian Dimagiba and Aiden Pulido. Arlington National Cemetery date not yet determined.
