Dorothy Frances Yarbrough, 97 of Bryans Road, MD passed away on March 1, 2015 at her home. Dorothy was born on August 6, 1917 in Baltimore, MD. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Koebel) Musil. Dorothy is also predeceased by her beloved husband, John Marcus Yarbrough; daughter, Carol Thomas; brother, Bud Musil and sister, Shirley Shackleford. Dorothy is survived by daughter, Joan Moulton (Ralph); son, John Yarbrough (Suzanne); and son-in-law, John Thomas, Sr.; grandchildren, Christian (Erin), James (Catherine), Mark (Dee) and Elizabeth Moulton and Beth Phelps and John Thomas, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Sarah and Daniel Thomas, Alexis, Simeon, Nicholas, Basil, Emily, Luke and Elizabeth Moulton. Dorothy liked gardening, particularly rose gardening. She also enjoyed baking (delicious) Christmas cookies, fruitcake and cooking crab cakes. Above all, family was very important to Dorothy and she took great pleasure in spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by many. He was born on October 6, 1953 in Cheverly, MD to Helen Lucile (Asmussen) Kidwell and the late Warren Gabriel Kidwell, Sr. Steven enjoyed horse racing, game shows and spending time with his grandchildren. Steven is survived by his mother, Helen L. Rocky enjoyed fishing, crabbing, hunting and being outdoors. He loved spending time with family and friends and tinkering things. She was born on May 14, 1915 in Lincoln, AL to the late James Robert Franklin and the late Corrie Hampton (Verrell) Franklin. Betty enjoyed square dancing, gardening, cooking, activities at the Senior Center and traveling to activities. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Cecil Henry Pitts; son, Donald Eugene Pitts; daughter, Judy Ann Pitts; and all of her siblings. Betty is survived by her son, James Henry Pitts (Janice); 6 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Elizabeth Agnes Holly, 95 of Leonardtown, MD, known to many as Mom, Granny, Puddin’, Lizzie, and Aunt Puddine to her family and friends, passed away peacefully in her sleep after a brief illness on Saturday, March 21, 2015. Elizabeth was born on May 25, 1919, in Leonardtown, MS. She was born to the late Peter Yates and the late Mary Leitha Swailes. Elizabeth was educated in the Medley’s Neck School. On November 19, 1939, Elizabeth married the love of her life, Joseph “Jackson” Holly. From this union they were blessed with “Nine” children. Elizabeth began her career working for many years as a Cook at the White Point Restaurant. Later she acquired a job as a Cook at St. Mary’s Hospital. After years of cooking at the hospital, an opportunity arises for Elizabeth to become a Nurse’s Aide. While being a Nurse’s Aide, Elizabeth and several of her best friends, Marguerite Barnes, Mamie Mason and Sarah Collins, all studied and took a test to later become Licensed Practical Nurses at St. Mary’s Hospital. Ruth Ann Friedli,”Sissie” 79 of St. Leonard, MD passed away peacefully on March 26, 2015 at the Burnett-Calvert Hospice House in Prince Frederick, MD. She was born on September 13, 1935 in Washington, DC to the late Ruth T. Goldsmith and James Leo Nutwell. Besides her parents, Ruth Ann is also predeceased by a son, Harry Lee DeMarr. She is survived by her loving husband Robert L. Friedli, devoted mother of Alexander DeSales DeMarr, William Wesley Goldsmith, Paul Leslie Goldsmith, and Lee Howard Goldsmith. Grandmother of 11, she is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, brothers Harry and Tommy and a sister Gracie. Ruth Ann loved being surrounded by her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. He was the son of the late Percy and Aminette Hall. Franklin served active duty in the Army from 1953 to 1955 and served in the Reserves until 1961 as a sergeant. Born on January 5, 1954 in Lebanon, PA, she was the daughter of Teresa Horn Peffley. On June 19, 1976, Elaine married her beloved husband, Dane Michael Kramer in Lebanon, PA. Together, they celebrated 38 wonderful years of marriage. She was a graduate of Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. She was currently employed by St. Mary’s County Government as the Chief Financial Officer since 2000. Prior to that, she was employed by the St. Mary’s County Board of Education as their Finance Director, with ten years of service. Born on May 1, 1952 in Patuxent River, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ronald Francis Sandidge, Sr., and Erma Marie McKay Sandidge. On December 19, 1970, Brenda married Leo Elmer Carroll at Trinity Episcopal Church in St. Mary’s City, MD. Together, they celebrated over 44 wonderful years. She was employed by St. Mary’s College of Maryland in library acquisitions until her retirement in 1994. She was an animal lover, especially cats. She enjoyed the piano and working in the yard with her flowers. She also enjoyed playing the slot machines. Her greatest love was for her family, especially her granddaughters. She was born in Washington, D.C., on June 29, 1943, to the late Charles Webster and S. Catherine (Kitty) Burch. Judy retired from the Bank of Southern Maryland in Hughesville after 33 years of service, and retired from County First Bank in Charlotte Hall after an additional 11 years. She married Charles Norwood Baden from Baden, MD on June 14, 1947. She is survived by her children, Priscilla Ann Baden of Catonsville, MD, Edna Beatrice Baden of Carova Beach NC, Charles Norwood Baden, Jr. of Nederland, CO and Edward Clyde Baden of Arlington, WA, her daughter-in-laws, Donna and Tam Baden, and her grandchildren, Charles Norwood Baden, III of Santa Monica, CA, Heather Genevieve Baden of Boulder, CO and Grayson Helen Baden of Seattle, WA. Timothy “Tim” Scott Wilson, Sr., 55 of Great Mills, MD went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2015 at Georgetown University Hospital surrounded by his family and one of his closest friends. Tim was born on May 23, 1959 in Piqua, OH and was the son of Helen L. (Thompson) Wilson and the late James D. Wilson, Sr. Tim was a talented woodworker and marksman and enjoyed riding his Harley. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Tim also loved his dog “Tater”. Born on December 24, 1922, in St. Inigoes, MD, she is the daughter of the late Ned Watts and Mabel Ball. Mary graduated from Jarboesville High School (currently Carver Middle School). She began her employment in the Navy Exchange Laundry at Patuxent River Naval Air Station with over 20 years of dedicated service. She was later employed as a caring bus driver for Sonny Morris for an additional five years. She was also employed as a custodian for the St. Mary’s County Board of Education at Esperanza Middle School with over 20 years of service before her retirement. Born on September 13, 1924, in Nashville, TN, she is the daughter of the late Charles Hinds and Ernestine Robertson Hinds. Marguerite married her beloved husband, Weldon Hoyt Harper on April 24, 1942 in Rossville, GA. Together they celebrated 62 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2004. She was employed as a factory technician until her retirement. Due to the nature of Weldon’s employment, she moved many times and lived in 20 different states. Fortunately, she enjoyed traveling and seeing other parts of the United States. She was extremely friendly and loved meeting new friends, all the while staying in touch with her old friends. Andersen and Alice (Gordon) Andersen. Laura graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in New York, NY. She married Charles M. Carley on July 6, 1954 in Beltsville, MD.
