Clinton Wynn Smith, 87, of Mechanicsville, MD, passed away on August 13, 2016 at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Charlotte Hall, MD. Clinton was born on June 4, 1929 in Royersford, PA to the late Irvin Roy Smith and the late Kathryn Baker Smith. Clinton retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. He enjoyed traveling and seeing the world. He worked as an electrician with the government and retired from PS Enterprises as a salesman in Silver Hill, MD. He also enjoyed his puppies, Turbo and Pete, the Redskins and cards. Clinton was predeceased by his wife, Mary Louise Lacey Smith; son, Michael D. Smith; daughter, Janet Marie Smith; brothers, Irvin Smith, Roy Smith; sisters, Dorothy Wetty, Evelyn Smith, Kathryn Naylor, and Arlene Nichol. Clinton is survived by his son, David M. Smith (Joanie); daughters, Cathy Ann Bassford; grandchildren, Chris Hammett, Tammy Owen, Daniel Hayden, Kelly Hayden, Janene Schmidt, Clinton Smith and eight great grandchildren. Family will receive friends for Clinton’s Life Celebration on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 5-8pm with prayers at 7pm at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
