Mary Helen Butler, 78, of Hughesville, MD quietly went on to be with the Lord at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, La Plata, MD on Saturday, August 30, 2014. Helen was born September 18, 1935 to the late Elizabeth Brown and Joseph Butler. Helen recieved her education at St. Mary’s Catholic School. Helen worked for the Farrall family for a number of years until her retirement. She resided in the Charles County Nursing Home, La Plata, MD for several years. Helen was a well-liked resident of the nursing home where she enjoyed television, bingo, cards, and crossword puzzles. Occasionally, Helen would leave the nursing home to enjoy outside activities with family and friends. Helen is survived by her daughter, Mary Woodland; grandson, Tarrence Butler (Sylvia); great-grandchildren, Brittany, Ja’Quez, Ja’Keeta; sisters, Ann Butler and Mary Matthews; aunt, Mary Catherine Mayfield and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.She is prededed in death by her mother, Elizabeth Brown; father, Joseph B. Butler; brothers Johns Butler, Michael Butler, Thomas Butler, Joseph “Dippa” Brown and William E. Butler.
