Joyce Constance Dykstra, 86 of Ridgewood, NJ, died on October 25, 2015 in Leonardtown, MD. Born June 29, 1929 in Patterson, NJ, to the late Clinton Shorrock and Eva Dexter. Joyce married her beloved husband, Kenneth W. Dykstra on April 16, 1949 in Patterson, NJ. Together they celebrated over 63 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in November 2012. She was employed by various banks ending with Atlantic Stewardship Bank as branch manager until her retirement. She enjoyed shopping and had a stylish flare. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed going to dinner on Saturday evenings. She loved to vacation and spend time at the beach, especially Long Boat Key, FL. However, her greatest love was spending time with her family. Tristan Michael Ross passed away on October 7, 2015. Tristan was born June 6, 1990 at 5:15 PM in Leonardtown, MD. He is survived by his Father D.T. Ross (Paula), Mother Elaine Webb, Siblings Kylie, Shaye, Hannah, and Logan and a host of other relatives and friends. During his life in Maryland, he was an amazing child. He was kind and generous to all. Tristan excelled in soccer and golf. A handsome boy with charisma, he traveled to modeling photo shoots. Tristan was loved by the teachers and staff at Leonardtown Elementary. He was a Boy Scout and loved spending summers at the neighborhood beach. Tristan eventually moved to California where he enjoyed basketball and martial arts. In his adult life, Tristan enjoyed rock climbing and he spent the last four years of his life with his true love and fiancé Raquel. Georgia Jean Carpenter, age 70, of California, Maryland, died October 24, 2015, at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Born March 30, 1945, in Bayonne, New Jersey, Georgia moved to St. Mary’s County in 2002 to be near her children, Christine Trent (Jonathan) and Anthony Papadakis (Lori). Georgia had several careers, but the one she was most passionate about was nursing. She loved medicine and the care of patients, and continued to read up on medical advancements well into retirement, even purchasing nursing textbooks to keep up on the latest in patient care. Georgia prized reading above all activities and collected books on a variety of topics her entire life. She instilled this love of books, as well as a deep devotion to learning, in both of her children. When Christine decided to write historical fiction novels, Georgia enthusiastically served as Christine’s informal editor and offered many suggestions for improving manuscripts. Georgia also enjoyed crochet, and was responsible for many lap blankets donated to charity. Nora Bauer Bachelder passed away at her home in Hollywood, MD on Sat, October 24 from complications of cancer. Nora was the daughter of the late Lefty and Phyllis Ford Bauer. She was also predeceased by her sister, Becky Towne. She is survived by her sister, Wanda, and brother-in-law, Bob Gabler, of Camp Hill PA; brother, Daryl (DJ) Bauer, of Bedford, NH; brother-in-law, David Towne, of Ridgway, PA; 12 nieces and nephews, 3 great nephews, and 4 great nieces. Nora graduated from St Mary’s Area High School in 1973 and served in the US Air Force from 1977-1982. She traveled the world and her enthusiasm and zest for life infected everyone she met. Nora loved to play board games, read, and take photographs of her family and her adventures. She retired from the Maryland Department of Veteran’s Affairs where she was a Service Officer. Doris Woolford Tettimer, 91 of St. Leonard, Maryland, passed away on October 31, 2015 in Prince Frederick. She was born February 15, 1924 and lived her entire life in Calvert County, MD. She graduated from Calvert High School in 1940 and proceeded to start her family of six children. She was a member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church and a charter member of the Company 7 Alarmers in St. Leonard. Her most joy came when she cooked Sunday dinners for her large family, in her tiny kitchen. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends will cherish the memory of those moments forever. Doris is survived by three children, Doris Ann Weems (Maurice), Patricia E. Born on December 5, 1955 in Cebu City, Philippines, she is the daughter of the late Consorcio Cecilio and Anecita Villa de Gracia. On October 26, 1989, Lumie married her beloved husband, Malaki Hameed in Omaha, NE. Together they celebrated 26 wonderful years of marriage. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and friend. Halm; son, James Michael; and half-brother, Orville Maddux. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jean Hottle Dayton; sons Mark A. (Misti) and Kenneth J. She was a dedicated wife of a career Marine and loving mother. She celebrated over 48 wonderful years of marriage with John Lewis Metcalf until his death in 2008. They travelled the world during his military career and in retirement they purchased a Recreational Vehicle to travel the country. She was an excellent cook and loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Edward Augustus Raley, son of the late Harry and Lillian Raley, passed away on October 31, 2015. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elaine Marie (Colleran) Raley, whom he met at MIT Lincoln Laboratory applying advanced technology to problems of national security. Together they had six children; Edward Augustus (Beth) Raley, Jr.; Suzanne Elaine (Randall) McAdams; Gregory Joseph (Heather) Raley; Cynthia Anne Raley (Robert) Moseley; James Patrick (Kathy) Raley; and John Michael Lahiff Raley. Ed is survived by two brothers, Charles M. (late Inja) Raley and Thomas D. (Eleanore) Raley, and joins brother Harry “Bobby” (Irene) Raley in death. He has twelve grandchildren and one great- granddaughter, as well as a large and loving extended family in Southern Maryland. Ed joined the US Army during the Korean War and continued to serve his country quietly and selflessly in the Central Intelligence Agency, Army Security Agency, and National Security Agency until retirement. Born on May 3, 1932 in Leonardtown, MD, he was the son of the late Lottie Roena McKenney and David Amos McKenney. Donnell was the loving husband of the late Phyllis Ann McKenny whom he married on October 29, 1953 in St. George Island, MD and preceded him in death on June 27, 2001. Pat married her beloved husband, Brian Lester Ellis on September 19, 1980 in Prince George’s County. Together they celebrated over 22 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in November 2002.
