Born September 11, 1966 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of Clifford Lee Stathers, Sr. and Mary Lee Zahand Stathers. Lori was a homemaker. She attended Surrattsville High School. She loved to laugh and shopping was her favorite pastime and spending time with her two boys. Lori was predeceased in death by her father and her niece April Young. She is survived by her boyfriend Jimmy Shipman; sons, Brandon Kittredge and Blake Shipman; mother Mary Stathers; sisters, Brenda Young and Cathy Weaver; twin sister, Gloria Borcky; brothers, Clifford Stathers, Jr. and David Stathers; four nieces; three nephews; 1 great niece and 2 great nephews. Anne Christine Rawlings, 81 of Cheltenham, MD, passed away on November 11, 2015 at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. She was born in Fredericksburg, VA on September 12, 1934 to the late James Madison Thomas and the late Clara Ella Davenport Thomas. Anne worked for the Air Force prior to working for the US Postal Service, where she retired in 1989. She enjoyed her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her church family, gardening, music, and a life in ministry for Jesus. She treasured every moment with her husband of 62 years. In addition to her parents, Anne was predeceased by her son, Larry Rawlings and grand-daughter, Shelby. Irwin George Decker (aka Dick)
Irwin George Decker (aka Dick) passed away November 11, 2015 after a 6 week determined struggle to recuperate from a massive stroke. Dick was born April 16, 1925 in Kingston, New York to Ida Brown Decker and Chester Andrew Decker. He grew up in Hurley, New York on Theilpape Mountain where he lived and worked on their small mountain farm. At the onset of World War II he joined the Navy at 17, where he served first onboard a destroyer, then was transferred to the S15 submarine (commissioned in 1919) where he then served as a signalman in the South Pacific. After his discharge he was married and moved to Maryland in 1949 and began his career as a police officer with the Washington DC Metropolitan Police. During these years he first walked a beat at the 5th precinct, then transitioned to recruiting for the Capitol Police and was stationed at the US Capitol until his retirement in 1972. After this retirement, he returned to the New York Mountains where he and his wife built their retirement home and office for his new position as Chief of Police for the Township of Hurley. Richard Larry Gaston, 70 of California, MD died on November 12, 2015 at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, MD, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 4, 1945 in Reading, PA to the late Elvin Gaston and Helen Virginia Sharp Gaston. In February 1965, Rich proudly enlisted in the United States Navy and dedicated over 20 years of service before his retirement as a Chief in October 1984. On March 3, 1967 he married his beloved wife, Patricia “Annie” Gaston in Millington, TN. Together they celebrated over 48 wonderful years of marriage. After retiring from the Navy he worked for several contractors including DynCorp as an Aviation Storekeeper. Rich and Annie enjoyed traveling, especially along the East Coast. They have taken many trips, including to Tennessee, Alaska, Canada, New Jersey, and to visit his sister in Reading, PA. They also enjoyed camping trips in their RV. Diane was born in Rock Point, MD on April 20, 1948 to the late Douglas Thomas Wise and Louise (Hayden) Wise. She is also predeceased by her brothers, Thomas Wise and Carol Wise; and sister, Betty Jane McGinn. Diane is survived by her daughters, Lisa Marie Stine, Melissa Ann Stine and Dianna Lynn Swann; sisters, Marian Melillo, Shirley Rollins, Patsy Goldsmith, Nancy Anderson; and brothers, Billy Wise and Donnie Wise. Born April 23, 1954 in Banks Alabama, he was the son of the late James Henry and Annie Ruth Price. Robert was a devoted Catholic, loving father and granddaddy. His lifelong passions were his love for horses and spending time with his family. Patrick John (Pat John) Forrest, Sr., son of Louis K. Forrest, Sr. and Patricia Bankowski Forrest passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on November 17, 2015. Pat John was born on June 14, 1951 in Leonardtown, MD. He has one brother, Louis K. (Sonney) Forrest, Jr. (Charlene) of Solomon’s, MD. Pat John Attended Great Mills High School before joining the Army. He served in the 82nd. Airborne Division. On October 24, 1970 he married the love of his life, Deborah Jean Reeder. Pat John and Debbie were married 45 years and have four children; Patrick John (PJ) Forrest, Jr. (Trina) of St. Inigoes, MD; Christopher Forrest (Margie) of St. Leonard, MD; Jessie Forrest (Amy) of Ridge, MD; and his “baby girl”, Angela Forrest of Ridge, MD. Thomas Ralph Burke, 82, of Owings, MD, formerly of Port Tobacco, MD and Nemacolin, PA, passed away on November 14, 2015 at the Burnett Calvert Hospice House. He was born on May 7, 1933 in Ronco, PA to the late Douglas Donald Burke and Dorothy Irene (Kerr) Burke. In addition to his parents, Thomas was predeceased by a brother, Donald Burke; two sisters, Mary Lou Henderson and Jane Organt; a brother in-law, Homer Henderson; and two sister-in-laws, Charlotte Burke and Betty Burke. Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Lucille (Sanner) Burke; a son, James Robert Burke (Jennifer); two daughters, Linda Mae Burch (Martin) and Sherry Ann Whidden (Mark); a brother James Burke; a brother in-law Morgan Organt; as well as five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Thomas Allen “Fatback” Jameson, Sr., 73 of California, MD died on November 15, 2015 at Chesapeake Shores Nursing Center in Lexington Park, MD, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 3, 1942, in LaPlata, MD to the late Thomas Paul Jameson and Elizabeth Ann Greenwell. On April 3, 1964 Allen married his beloved wife, Mary Jane Abell at St. John’s Regis Catholic Church in Hollywood, MD. Together they celebrated over 51 loving years. He was employed as a Pipefitter for the Federal Government for 33 years until his retirement in 2005. After retirement, he worked part-time as an attendant at the St. Andrews Landfill. He was an avid boater, and enjoyed crabbing. He coached and played softball and often went to his grandson’s games and tournaments to cheer them on. His other hobbies included shooting pool, duck and rabbit hunting, attending horse races, playing cards, especially poker, and socializing with his many friends. Herbert Cole, Jr., World War II Veteran, 91 of Charlotte Hall, MD passed away on November 16, 2015 at Charlotte Hall Veteran’s Home. Born January 7, 1924 in Washington, DC he was the son of the late Herbert Cole, Sr. and Grace Cole. In 1942, Herbert enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served on the U.S.S. Vincennes. After his military service he married his late wife of 52 years, Catherine Amanda Cole who predeceased him in 1998. Together they raised their sons; Billy and Bruce, and daughter Bonnie. Herbert worked as a crane operator for the Local 77 Operating Engineers for 50 years. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Herbert had four siblings; Joe, Margaret, Dorothy and Mary all of whom predeceased him. Predeceased by his wife and daughter Bonnie. Herbert is survived by his sons; Billy Cole (Sharyn) and Bruce Cole (Peggy); grandchildren Karen Irvin (Brian) and Michael Cole (Mandy), two great grandchildren Adrian and Zander, and two step great grandchildren Rani and Charisma. Walt is survived by his wife, Vona, whom he married on May 16, 1970.
