David Edward Galpern, 64, of Waldorf, Maryland, passed away on September 22, 2018. Born on December 29, 1953 in Wurzburg, Germany, he was the son of the late Annemarie Pichula Galpern and Edward Hyman Galpern. Dave worked with HVAC since age 17 and was a long-time technician with Ronco Mechanical in Clinton, Maryland. He is survived by his daughters Leah Vailati and her husband Travis, Christina Turpen; son David Galpern; grandchildren Mason Vailati, Gabriel Vailati, Camden Vailati, Chase Turpen and Bridgett Turpen; siblings Ruthie, Janet, Mike and Steve Galpern. Family and friends to gather on Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 10AM to 11AM at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Ralph Bishop Dickinson, age 58 of Welcome, Maryland, died September 14, 2018 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland. Ralph was the owner/operator of Dickinson Lawn Care for 16 years and a member of Old Durham Episcopal Church in Ironsides, Maryland. He was also a member of the NRA (was a sharp shooter) and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). He loved working his farm and raising his cattle, deer hunting, and fishing. He was the son of James Lovejoy Dickinson and Mardalee Bishop Dickinson. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Louise Dickinson; his children, Richard Wayne Inscoe (Cynthia) and April M. Gurekovich (Matthew); his brother, James V. Dickinson (Janet E. Herndon); his sister, Sherry C. Taylor (Raymond); and his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ely, Anna, Gwen, Rickey, and Colt. Funeral Services will be private. Interment at a later date at Old Durham Church Cemetery. Walter Edgar “Eddie” Coulby II, age 31 of Nanjemoy, Maryland, died September 18, 2018 in White Plains, Maryland. Eddie was a Stock Clerk for Walmart and a member of Maryland Point Baptist Church in Nanjemoy. He loved Ravens football and Orioles baseball, playing cards (especially poker), loved being with family (especially his sisters), and made everyone laugh. He was the very loving and kind son of Walter Edgar Coulby Sr. and Janet Marie Eddy Coulby. In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Nora Lee Coulby; his maternal grandmother, Kathy Eddy and her late husband, Bruce Eddy; his brother, Paul A. Hamilton; his sisters, Rebecca Elizabeth Coulby and Tiffany Lynn Hamilton (Kyle Oakley); his nieces, Taylor Ledman and Summerlyn Hamilton; and his nephew, Sean Hamilton. Treva was born on February 21st 1943 in Upper Tract, West Virginia to the late Mary and Kenneth Kimble. She was a graduate of Surrattsville Senior High School in Clinton, MD. Class of 1960. Treva had a long and prosperous career in banking and office management. Her loves in life were her faith, family, pets, flowers, friends, taking cruises with her family and eating steamed Maryland Blue Crabs. Aurelio Nepa, Jr. (Jay), Lt. Col., U.S. Airforce, Retired, died peacefully at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital, September 19, 2018, from complications of a stroke suffered in 2004. Born in Altoona, PA, March 4, 1931. Graduated from Penn State University, BS (Education) and American University, Washington, DC, Juris Doctor. After 24 years of service in the Air Force in various assignments in the U.S. and abroad, worked in the Federal Civil Service as Staff Director in the Department of Defense Privacy Board until his retirement in 1998. Survived by wife Francesca, nee Fattori, son Jay Patrick, brother Eugene, sister-in-law Dawn Nepa, sister-in-law Renata Grant, brother-in-law Paolo Fattori, Udine, Italy, many relatives, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends in the U.S. and Italy. Susan Cecile Legagneux, age 67, of White Plains, MD died on September 23, 2018 in La Plata, MD. Susan, a lifetime resident of Charles County, was a Loan Officer with Community Bank of the Chesapeake for 32 years and a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Pomfret. She was a jovial, artistic free spirit with a good sense of humor. She loved animals and enjoyed politics and cooking. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter Anthony Willett and Opal Mae Henderson; and brothers, Anthony, Claude, Milton, David, John, Patrick, and Wayne Willett. Susan is survived by her husband, Michael H. Legagneux; son, Michael H. Legagneux, Jr.; brother, James R. Willett (Cathy); sister, DaOnne Lucas (Joe); and grandchildren, Meredith and Michelle. James Alton Long, age 72, of La Plata, MD died on September 23, 2018 at his residence. James was a U.S. Navy Veteran and lifetime resident of Charles County. He worked at Gardiner Equipment for 10 years and Pepco for 23 years as a Shop Foreman. He was a member of the VFW Bel Alton, the Bel Alton Fire Department, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Plata. James loved fishing and spending time in his boathouse. He enjoyed playing cards and bingo, watching Jeopardy, and being with his best friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Leonard Long and Mary Cecelia Burch; brother, Ralph Long; sister, Mary Ann Foote; and his great-grandson Richy. David Michael Stallard, age 28 of Waldorf, Maryland, died September 23, 2018. David was a HVAC Installer for 10 years, his last employer, with Metal Crafters. He was also a member of New Life Wesleyan Church in La Plata, Maryland. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, motor cross, and golf. He loved being with friends and family. He was the son of Mark Daniel Stallard and elaine Marie D’Antonio Stallard. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Dan and Helen D’Antonio; his brother, Matthew D. Stallard (Julie); his sisters, Jessica K. Stallard and Samantha L. Dorf (Jonathan); his nephew, Jaxson; and his nieces, Shelby, Riley, and Ella. A Memorial Service is planned at New Life Wesleyan Church at a later date.

Mary Delores Bush , 80, of Chaptico, MD departed this earthly life on September 21, 2018, after a short stay at the Hospice House, in Callaway, MD, surrounded by her loving family and close friends. Delores was born in Mechanicsville, MD to the late Mary M. Holt and Ernest A. Holly on January 06, 1938. She received her education in St. Mary’s county public schools. She later married the love of her life, Theodore R. Bush on November 15,1958 and gave birth to eight beautiful children. Delores was a fun, loving, and nurturing mother. She loved her family, church family, and most of all serving and praising The Lord. She attended Living Hope for the past 30 plus years where she was faithful in attending and giving unconditionally. Every first Saturday of the month she did nursing home ministries at our local nursing home. She also loved to cook her famous fried chicken, potato salad and her home-made cherry cheesecake that everyone loved. She loved attending her children and grandchildren’s sports activities. Born on April 22, 1956 in Leonardtown, MD he was the loving son of the late Mary Madeline Abell Dornall and Charles Nicholas Dornall, Sr. Charlie is survived by his siblings; Anna L. Sturm of Millersville, MD, Charlotte A. Wathen and Cecelia Flora, both of Mechanicsville, MD. He is preceded in death by his sisters Mary E. Trossbach and Margaret M. Hill. Charlie attended the Center of Life Enrichment in St. Mary’s County MD for several years. He enjoyed playing his keyboard & maracas. Charlies loved his ice cream and hot dogs. Annie Lucille “Mom Mom” Wright, 96, of Ridge, Maryland, died September 22, 2018, at Hospice House of St. Mary’s. She was born on April 17, 1922 in Ridge, MD to the late Ruth and Clarence Wise. Lucille was passionate about the Baltimore Orioles, leaving her grandchildren with fond memories of hearing the announcers on the radio or TV from the little bedroom on summer nights. She loved playing bingo and could be found Tuesdays nights at the Legion and Thursday nights at St. James Hall. She spent summers in her “skiff” crabbing the shore lines on her beloved St. Jerome’s Creek; very often with her grandchildren as her “crew”. She was a wonderful cook and baker, and everyone knew that if you wanted a good home cooked supper, you best be at the house before 4 pm. Many Friday evenings were spent sitting on the back porch with family enjoying a pile of freshly steamed crabs, and of course the ball game playing in the background. Louvina May Freese, 88, of California, MD died September 20, 2018, at Solomons Nursing Center in Solomons, MD. She was born on October 3, 1929 in Broadway, VA to the late William W. Depoy and Tracie Ruth Lam Depoy. On January 19, 1950 Louvina married her beloved husband, Claude L. Freese in Corpus Christi, TX. Together they celebrated over 29 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in January1980. She was employed by the Department of the Navy in the food service industry for over 40 years until her retirement in 2005. She had a green thumb and grew beautiful flower gardens. She was refined and took great pride in her appearance. She enjoyed shopping and was always well dressed. She loved her family and especially close to her grandson, Ty. Shirley Mae Brooks, 84, of Prince Frederick passed away September 24, 2018 at Calvert County Nursing Center. She was born December 1, 1933 in West Palm Beach, FL to William and Helen (Covar) Crosby. Shirley was raised in Florida and lived in Chesapeake Beach for over 20 years. She later moved back to Florida for 10 years before returning to Calvert County in 2007. She was employed with Local 400 Cashier’s Union and worked at the old A&P in Upper Marlboro and the new A&P at Route 301 and 4, retiring in 1983. Shirley enjoyed crabs and beer, country music, NASCAR, the Baltimore Orioles and the Miami Dolphins. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Georgetown Medical Center, Calvert Health Medical Center, Lori Hudson and the staff at Calvert County Nursing Center and Tina McMahon at Calvert County Social Services Department of Human Resources. She was born April 11, 1934 in Virginia to James Lloyd Sr. and Emily Elizabeth (Tippett) Seibert. May was raised in Washington, D.C. and attended public schools. She later moved with her family to Churchton. She married John E. Bowen October 20, 1950 and they lived in Tracy’s Landing. May was employed as a food service manager with Anne Arundel County Public Schools, last working at Central Middle School in Edgewater. She was a member of the American Legion Post 206 Auxiliary in Chesapeake Beach. May enjoyed ceramics, reading, cooking, baking, canning and spending time with family. May was preceded in death by her husband John Edward Bowen, Sr. and brothers Charles Seibert and James Seibert, Jr. She is survived by daughters Joyce B. Davis and husband Joe of Dayton, TN, Penny M. Joseph Brennan “Peck” Norris, Jr., 93, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 2, 1925 in Great Mills, MD to the late Joseph B. Norris, Sr. and Lula Abell Norris. On January 10, 1951, Peck enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country until his Honorable discharge on January 9, 1953. On May 26, 1951 Peck married his beloved wife, Ruth A. Norris, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Morganza, MD. Together they celebrated over 67 wonderful years of marriage. He was employed as a correspondent at Kodak until his retirement. He served his community for many years volunteering at Helping Hands food pantry alongside his sisters. Peck was a long time member of the Oxon Hill, MD American Legion Post 248 where he served as a commander from 1981-1983. Summer nights brought him the most joy.
