Born April 29, 1926 in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John Trupkiewicz and Felicia (Ciesinski) Trupkiewicz. Sallie was a homemaker who took great pride in raising her two children and caring for her family. She loved to cook and to read. Her grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy. Elizabeth Ann Kolwey age 77 of Hollywood, MD passed away on July 28th, 2014 after a twenty year battle with Parkinson’s disease at the Hospice House in Callaway, MD. Betty Ann was born to Jim and Elizabeth (Greaser) Miller on November 4, 1936 in Kingwood, WV. Her mother died when she was two, and her father later remarried Anna (Loss) when Betty Ann was eight. Anna lovingly raised her thereafter. Betty Ann worked at the 1st National Bank in Morgantown, WV where she met Herman Kolwey. They were married on August 11, 1963 in Howesville, WV and moved to Lexington Park, MD. They recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in August of 2013. Betty Ann is survived by her husband Herman, son Jimmy (Cindy) Kolwey, and daughter Sandy (Dave) Adams all of Hollywood, MD. Her grandchildren Daniel Kolwey, Catie Kolwey and Sam Adams. Charles Edgar Abell, 76 of Leonardtown, MD died July 30, 2014 at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born October 5, 1937 in Leonardtown, MD he was the son of the late Francis Edgar Abell and Margaret Mary Graves Abell. Charles was a lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County. He spent many years working for Rooster Guy, Emmitt Russell and Leroy Buckler as one of the best painter’s in St. Mary’s County. He harvested beautiful gardens every year and was an excellent cook. He was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles baseball team. He also enjoyed watching the Washington Redskins and NASCAR races. Born July 30, 1963 in Poughkeepsie, NY he is the son of Carol Ann (Van Steenburgh) Doreo of Myrtle Beach, SC and the late Robert Ralph Doreo. In 1981, Kevin graduated from F.D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park, NY. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served his country for 8 years before he was honorably discharged. In 1990, he married his beloved wife of 24 years, Julie Doreo. He was employed as a supervisor at the Test Pilot School at Patuxent River Naval Air Station by DynCorp for the past 21 years. Francis E. Thompson (Cheek) was called to his eternal rest on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the Specialty Hospital of Washington Hadley. He was born to and raised by Marion Thompson Nelson and Francis Nelson on February 3, 1968. After graduating high school in 1986, Francis served in the United States Army and Army Reserves from 1987 to 1995. Upon his honorable discharge, Francis received the Sharpshooter Badge and Army Service Ribbon. Following his career in the service, Francis was employed at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant in Calvert County, MD. In October of 1995, Francis began his career with the BJ’s Wholesale Club as a Forklift Operator. He continued this career until his illness in November 2011. Francis accepted Christ at an early age and served as an altarboy at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church. Born August 28, 1937 in Bristol, TN, she is the daughter of the late Joseph Combs and Hester Godsey Combs. On July 26, 1958, Geraldine married her beloved husband, the late Hubert Edd Addison. Together they were married 38 years before his passing in April 1997. She enjoyed going to the Horseshoe club and the VFW with her spouse. She also enjoyed dancing, reading, cooking, baking, gardening, playing lottery and scratch tickets and watching her soap operas (the Young and Restless and Bold and Beautiful). Bette Irene (Carpenter) Feeley Stiles, 87 of Mechanicsville, MD, died July 29, 2014 at Hospice House of St. Mary’s in Callaway, MD. She was born in Barnesville, OH on May 14, 1927, daughter of Arthur and Alberta (Wood) Carpenter. She moved to Washington, D.C after WWII to work as a bookkeeper. Bette was blessed to be married twice to gentle, loving men who cherished her. She was married to John D. Feeley for more than 25 years, living in Riverdale and Beltsville, MD. Several years after his death, she married William J. Stiles of Laurel, MD and they celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2007. William Dallas Davis, Jr., 71 of Lexington Park, MD, died August 5, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family and friends. Born March 31, 1943 in Hollywood MD. He enlisted in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic after graduating from Leonardtown High School in 1962. His service to his country continued for the majority of his adult life. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Bill went on to support the fleet as a machinist on nuclear submarines at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard while studying Business Administration at New Hampshire College. He returned to St. Mary’s County in 1978 and was employed by McDonnell Douglas Aircraft supporting F/A -18 program as the Ground Support and Facilities Manager. He later worked as a contractor specializing in aircraft facilities for Public Works. As Bill approached retirement, he enjoyed interacting with local residents as the manager of the hardware department of Lowes. Bill’s love of family and friends were often combined with his passions for cooking, traveling, photography and vegetable gardening.
