Norvel Leon Morgan, Jr., 56, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away at his home on February 22, 2015 in Mechanicsville, MD. Born on March 29, 1958 in Leonardtown, MD, he was the son of Dorothy Christine Morgan, and the late Norval Leon Morgan, Sr. Ned is survived by brothers David Glenn Morgan and Lawrence Morgan. He worked as a Security Guard for the Power Plant. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. John Conrad Stemski, III, age 26, of Lusby, MD passed away on February 21, 2015 at his residence. John was born on March 16, 1988 in LaPlata, MD. He graduated from Patuxent High School in 2006. John was the owner/operator of Accurate Garage Doors. He enjoyed sports and fishing and loved listening to music. He was a very loving person who enjoyed being with his family and friends. He always had a sense of humor and could bring a smile to your face and make you laugh. But most of all, he loved being a dad. His children were his motivation in life. Arlene Yvonne Lawrence of White Plains, MD passed away early Saturday morning, February 21, 2015 after a long battle with COPD and heart disease. Along with various positions in her past, her most prominent and memorable careers were as Manager of the American Legion, Post 8, Washington, DC for approximately 10 years and her final position as a bartender at the Capitol Lounge on Pennsylvania Ave. SW for approximately 10 or more years until she retired at the age of 72. She is survived by her beloved Son Joe Church and Loving daughter Lenda Jarboe. Her grandchildren, Gregg Jarboe (Tracey), Lisa Madonna-Deal (Jeramy), Lorna Madonna, Jesse Church and Matthew Church. Born on June 18, 1956, in Patuxent River, MD, he was the son of the late Jane Mildred “Millie” Babcock and Robert “Bob” Babcock of Lexington Park, MD. Timmy was the loving husband of Jeannie Babcock, whom he married on February 5, 1988; they were married for 27 years. Timmy is survived by his children; Eric Babcock of Brown County, TX, Tina Babcock and Kristin Hibbs both of Lexington Park, MD, George Hibbs of Newtown, PA, 12 grandchildren, and 2 great grandsons. Eloise Marie Johnson, 85 of Avenue, MD and formerly of Prince George’s County, MD passed away on February 24, 2015 at St. Mary’s Nursing Center in Leonardtown, MD. She was born on August 19, 1929 in Washington, DC to the late Alice G. Watson. Eloise enjoyed spending time with family. In addition to her parents, Eloise was predeceased by her daughter, Colleen Forsyth; brother, Raymond and sister, Mary. Eloise is survived by her husband, Charles M. Johnson; sons, Michael Forsyth and James Forsyth (Donna); daughter, Patricia Forsyth; and many grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Pam Padgett; brothers, Anthony, Ben and John Stasulli; and sister, Mary Stasulli. Edna is survived by her (previous) husband, Orman M. Padgett; son, Steven Padgett (Tracie); daughter, Debra Padgett; sister, Anna Rastelli; grandchildren, Michael, Samantha and Madeleine Padgett and Benjamin and Joseph Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Wyatt Michael Fadeley, 14 of Great Mills, MD, passed away Saturday evening, February 21, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, MD. Wyatt was born on March 21, 2000 at Fort Bragg, NC to Michael Leslie Fadeley and Amanda Rachel Sole Fadeley, now residing in Great Mills, MD. Wyatt attended the ninth grade at Leonardtown High School, where he played on the junior varsity football team and was practicing hard to make the varsity team. Wyatt loved football, and he and his father loved the Oakland Raiders – making his High School team and teammates even closer to their hearts. Wyatt was a loving son to his parents and a gentle and patient brother to his sister Savannah; however, when on the football field he was a physical and hard hitting player. He loved the game. Wyatt was an avid reader, a trait he shared with his mother. They loved discussing books and ideas… although their tastes didn’t always align. John Michael Domenick, 69, of Patuxent River, MD passed away February 26, 2015 at Hospice House of St. Mary’s in Callaway, MD, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 5, 1945, in Hartford, CT, he is the son of late Joseph Domenick, Sr. and Carmella DiDonato. In 1964, John enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country as a Medical Specialist until his honorable discharge in 1970. He earned his Associates of Arts degree in criminal justice. He went to work as a police officer for the Miami Dade County Police Department. He was proud to have the opportunity to help his fellow citizens. He also enjoyed working security detail at the Miami Hurricanes college football games. He was a sports fanatic and loved watching the Miami Hurricanes, Miami Dolphins, and the Cincinnati Reds. He was later employed as a travel agent in Las Vegas, NV. He enjoyed travelling throughout the world. He travelled abroad to every continent except Antarctica and Africa. His favorite destination was Hawaii. Crystal Celesta “Lesty” Vogt, 89 of Leonardtown, MD, formerly of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on February 6, 2015 at St. Mary’s Nursing Center. Born April 24, 1925 in Lockwood, MO, she was the daughter of the late W. Arthur Kerr and Ethel (Johnson) Kerr. Lesty graduated from Republic High School in Missouri in 1943. She married John Franklin Vogt on April 15, 1943 and was a homemaker. Lesty moved to the area from Boynton Beach, FL in 2003. Lesty is survived by her children, John Frederick Vogt of Virginia Beach, VA, Steven Wayne Vogt of Duck, NC, and Debra Lucille Barton of Lusby, MD; six grandsons, Douglas Vogt, Michael Vogt, Charles G. Vogt, Christopher R. Barton, Alexander R. Born February 11, 1968 in Washington, D.C., he was the beloved son of Louis and Pamela Bailey. He is survived by his brother Jeffrey “Jeff” Bailey and the family’s dear friend Cynthia “Cyndi” Dobelman. He was the grandson of Louis Bailey and Ethel and Kenneth Murphy; Harold Akins and Velma and Max Miller. Robert was a longtime resident of St. Mary’s County, MD. Mary Jane Brookbank, 82 of Silver Spring, MD, formerly of Mechanicsville, MD passed away March 1, 2015 at her residence in Silver Spring, MD. Born December 4, 1932 in Sandgates, MD, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Leonard Harding, Sr. and the late Lillie Mae Downs. Mary Jane began her career working at Harding’s Store in Oakville, MD working for her father in the store. Eventually her own home would be directly located across from her childhood home. Her career led her the field of banking and worked at Maryland National and Bank of America in the Mechanicsville branch as a Service Rep. Mary Jane loved helping people whether it was within the bank or volunteering to teach reading in the school system. Kathy Gaye Swann was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cherished spending time with her beloved family and friends. Kathy was born September 27, 1952 to Warren Franklin Adams and Frances Theresa Adams in Washington, D.C. She grew up in Oxon Hill, MD, and attended Oxon Hill High School. On February 28, 1970, she met the love of her life, Allen Rodney Swann, and they married the following year. Kathy and Allen moved to Mechanicsville, MD in 1983, and Kathy was a committed and nurturing homemaker. She never missed any of her kids’ countless sports games, school concerts, and other events. Kathy and Allen built such a caring household that there were frequently kids from other families who would stay at their home for extended periods of time. After her kids finished high school, Kathy began working for Prince George’s Public County Schools, where she served as a teacher assistant for 18 years. The Swann’s annual beach vacation and annual Christmas gathering were among her favorite times of the year. James Joseph Johnston, lovingly known as Buddy by his family, passed away Saturday evening, February 28, 2015, at his home in Chaptico, MD, surrounded by his family who loved him. Born in Washington, D.C., Jimmy grew up the seventh of sixteen children in Mt. Rainier, MD. He lived in Brentwood, Rockville, and Gaithersburg before moving to Chaptico in 1993. Jimmy served in the United States Army as a member of the Signal Corp in Germany and finished his service in 1965 at the Pentagon; the same year he met the love of his life, Veronica. They married in April of 1966. He worked for Safeway as a meat cutter from 1966 to 1970 which is when he became a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local 100. In 1997, Jimmy opened his own sheet metal fabrication shop, JCJ, Inc., closing its doors in 2005 in a much celebrated retirement. Jimmy loved strong coffee, working in his yard, eating tomatoes right off the vine, ketchup as a food group, the beach, Thanksgiving bonfires, and spending time with his family. Ms. Louise Madeline Kralle, 84 of Great Mills, MD passed away on February 28, 2015 at Chesapeake Shores in Lexington Park, MD. Born January 24, 1931, in Memphis, TN, she is the daughter of the late Christopher Columbus Forcherio and Teresa Botto. Louise celebrated over 39 wonderful years of marriage to her beloved husband, John “Jack” Francis Kralle before his passing in 1990. She was a devoted wife and loving mother to her four children; Ronald, Deborah, Kathryn, and Gary. Although stricken with Polio in 1954, Louise was a dedicated Navy wife and throughout Jack’s career she was a member of the Navy Chief Petty Officers Wives Club and stood by his side in various assignments around the world, including the Philippines; San Diego, CA; Memphis, TN; and Newfoundland. In 1970 they moved to St. Mary’s County where Jack served as the first Master Chief Petty Officer of the Command, Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, MD. Catherine R. (Cole) Clough, 84 of LaPlata, MD passed away on February 27, 2015. Catherine was born to Roy and Hazel Cole, farmers in Clarksburg, WV, on August 3, 1930. She learned to work hard and take on responsibilities at an early age. Her three brothers were in the military because of WWII and her father was disabled after an auto accident, so she and her sisters ran the farm (milking cows, planting, raising chickens, cutting hay, etc.). At the age of 17 Catherine went to Mt. Vernon Academy for her senior year and was named Valedictorian of her Class (1949). She earned a scholarship to CUC. She graduated from nursing school in 1953 and married her soulmate, Les. During their 45 years of marriage they were active in church, community and family life. They were blessed with a daughter, Pam in 1953. She married and gave them two grandsons, Brandon and Peter, and a granddaughter, Alysia, who are now grown and have children of their own, giving her five beautiful great-grandchildren, Brandon, II, Madison, Trey, Jaxon and Wyatt.
