Catherine Joan Goldsmith, 72 of Bryantown, MD passed away May 19, 2015 at her residence. Born August 17, 1942 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of Herman Joseph Penn and Catherine Heffron Penn. Joan was a homemaker who worked on the Goldsmith Family Farm. She also worked as a bus attendant. Joan loved playing bingo and the slots. Predeceased by her parents, Joan is survived by her husband, Garfield Francis Goldsmith; sons, Robert E. Goldsmith (Carla), Todd L. Goldsmith (Tonya) and Tony J. Goldsmith; brother, Joseph Penn (Gloria) and eight grandchildren, Matthew, Elliot, Mitchell, Toby, Troy, Caleb, Evan and Cayden. Minnie Bell Custodio, 90 of Waldorf, MD died on May 15, 2015. Minnie was born on December 29, 1924 in Washington, DC to the late Roland and Georgianna Hall. Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, the late Amando F. Custodio. Minnie retired from the Hecht Co. as a Sales Consultant for many years. She was a member of the VFW Lodge. In her spare time, Minnie enjoyed sewing, gardening, animals, dancing, cooking and traveling. Most of all, Minnie enjoyed socializing with her loving family and friends. She was also known to all as Nana. Judith Marie “Judy” Geary, 51 of California, MD, passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2015. Judy had valiantly fought a variety of health issues over the past 10 years. Born on March 31, 1964 in Memphis, TN, she was the first daughter of the late Niale Gerard (“Deacon Jerry”) Geary and the late Eileen Marie (Main) Geary. Judy moved with her family to Patuxent River NAS in August of 1977 and she graduated from Great Mills High School in 1982. Judy worked in various retail positions for many years. The majority of those years were spent with the Patuxent River Navy Exchange, where Judy made friendships that lasted her lifetime. Judy’s proudest achievement occurred in 2006 when she graduated with Honors from ECPI with a Degree in Web Design. Judy enjoyed life. She had a youthful disposition. Her favorite things were rainbows, unicorns, fairies, video games, softball, all reality TV but especially singing competitions, and every person she came in contact with, even those who couldn’t see what a truly loving heart she possessed. Born January 24, 1929, she was the daughter of the late George Washington Brady and the late Annie Kidwell Brady. Helen was the prior owner of Helen’s Tavern in Capital Heights, MD before moving to Abell. She enjoyed bingo, casinos, horse racing, cards, football and slots. In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband, George Gray, her brothers, George, James, Harvey and Harry Brady; sisters, Marion Garner, Louise Plant, Josephine, Marie, and Lill McKenzie. Born in Washington, DC on Feb. 16, 1925, she was the only child born to the late Bessie A. and Charles G. Jameson. She was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, the late Raymond T. Tilghman. Kim Alan Edwards, 63 of Lusby, MD passed away on May 16, 2015 at his residence. Born November 20, 1951 in Akron, OH, he was the son of the late James Walter Edwards and Jean Marie (Klein) Edwards. Kim graduated from Calvert high School in 1970. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. Kim married his wife, Ann on September 14, 1973 in Solomons Island, MD. He recently retired from DeMent’s Mechanical Corporation. She enjoyed going to yard sales, flea markets and antique shops looking for special finds. She had an extensive collection of vintage hats and perfume bottles. She enjoyed gardening and especially loved growing beautiful roses. She also loved her pet Chihuahua, “Daisy May.” However, her greatest love was spending time with her family. Anna Jordan “Nana”, 96 of Mechanicsville, MD, died May 30, 2015. Born January 19, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Camillo and Annie Vaccaro. Anna worked as a carpet seamstress until her retirement. Anna loved crocheting, reading, knitting, cooking, and eating crabs. Anna lived for her family and really enjoyed being with them. In addition to her parents, Anna was predeceased by her husband, Claude William Jordan, Sr., three brothers and three sisters. Anna is survived by her sons, Jimmie (Sharon), Bill (Joan), Bobby; daughter, Doris (Ralph); sisters Chris Burcham, Tootsie Hoffman, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
